Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted warmly at the airport by a shuttle from the lodge. The transfer to your accommodation takes between 10 minutes and an hour. If the weather is favorable, unwind by the pool and prepare for your upcoming adventure.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park Your guide from BUSH GUIDE SAFARIS will pick you up in the morning. The journey begins with a drive past Mount Meru, through Arusha, and various small villages until you reach Tarangire National Park. Known for its picturesque landscapes of acacia forests, towering baobab trees, and expansive grass savannahs, the park is home to herds of elephants, antelopes, zebras, buffaloes, baboons, and giraffes. Overnight stay in a luxury tent.

Day 3: Cultural Exploration in Mto wa Mbu After breakfast, we head to the vibrant town of Mto wa Mbu, a melting pot of nearly 120 tribes from across Tanzania. Spend the day exploring the town on foot or by bike. Enjoy a traditional Tanzanian lunch in the garden and for those interested, there’s an opportunity to shop for ingredients at the market and cook together. Optionally, visit a local school to gain insight into everyday life for Tanzanian children.

Day 4: Journey to Serengeti National Park Travel from the Ngorongoro Crater rim into the Serengeti, with stunning views of the former volcano’s unique landscape. As you descend into the Serengeti, the “endless plains” derived from the Maasai word “Siringitu” unfold before you. Enjoy game drives en route to your accommodation.

Day 5: Serengeti Safari Adventure Spend the day exploring the Serengeti, where there are no fixed routes. Discover hidden spots teeming with wildlife, and listen to updates over the radio about special sightings. Witness the Great Migration, one of nature’s most spectacular events, with around 1.5 million wildebeest and zebras. Enjoy lunch in the form of a lunchbox at picnic areas or while observing animals from the car.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Exploration Travel back to the Ngorongoro Crater, approximately a 4-hour drive from the Serengeti. This geological wonder, once higher than Mount Kilimanjaro, collapsed to form a unique habitat. The crater, often called the 8th wonder of the world, spans over 260 square kilometers and houses nearly 30,000 animals, including the rare black rhino. After a game drive, continue to your accommodation.

Day 7: Return to Arusha On the final day, travel back to Arusha, passing through lively villages and vibrant landscapes. The drive takes about two hours, leading you to the small Arusha airport.

Optional Zanzibar Extension Extend your stay in Tanzania with a relaxing break on Zanzibar’s beautiful beaches. We offer various accommodation options, resorts, and activities tailored to your preferences. Let us create a personalized extension for you to unwind and reflect on your incredible safari experience.
