Drive from hotel to Londorossi Gate for registration. Trek through lush, moss-draped rainforest with frequent sightings of black-and-white colobus monkeys.

Day 2 Moorland

Mti Mkubwa (2,820m) to Shira 1 Camp (3,610m)

Ascend out of the forest canopy into the heather moorland zone. Cross the vast western slopes onto the Shira Plateau with expansive views of Mount Meru.

Day 3 Shira Plateau

Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp (3,850m)

A gentle acclimatization day crossing the volcanic plateau towards Shira 2 Camp. In the afternoon, take a short acclimatization hike to Shira Cathedral.

Shira 2 to Lava Tower (4,630m) & Descend to Barranco Camp (3,970m)

Wake at 11:30 PM. Climb by headlamp past Stella Point to reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise: The Roof of Africa! Descend triumphantly to Mweka Camp.
